Today’s recipe home made cinnamon rolls

| March 28, 2020

We have all been trapped for the last little while and I got bored and decided to get out the bread machine. I mean seriously what else are we going to do?

Thankfully, the internet is still working. A quick search on the internet gave me the basic recipe and I modified it as follows:

Ingredients

  • For the Cinnamon Roll Dough:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 tablespoons butter (or margarine)
  • 3 1/3 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast (or 1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine/rapid rise yeast)
  • For the Filling:
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • For the Icing:
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Steps to Make It.

Add the ingredients for the cinnamon rolls to your bread machine as recommended by the manufacturer. Program the appliance for the dough cycle.

Next, preheat the oven to 375 F. .

Roll the dough out into a rectangle, about 15 by 10 inches.

Spread 1/4 cup of the melted butter over the dough to within one inch of the edges.

Then sprinkle 1/4 cup of sugar and cinnamon evenly over dough.

Roll the dough up tightly on the long side. Press edges to seal and form into a 12-inch long, evenly shaped roll.

Using a knife or 8-inch-long piece of dental floss, cut the entire roll into one-inch pieces. I had this cinnamon floss so why not.

Place the rolls cut side down into a greased 13-inch by 9-inch baking pan.

Cover it and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place until it doubles in size. This part of the baking process will take about 30 to 45 minutes. I sprinkled a little extra cinnamon on them now.]

Bake the rolls for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool the rolls in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes.

then drizzle them with the icining.

I made the icing a little tick so it wouldn’t be runny. Notice the time on the clock. I started this procedure after I ate breakfast. The kids get them tomorrow that is if they last that long.
